How To Order A Wedding Cake In Cheltenham

How To Order A Wedding Cake

The Process of Ordering Your Wedding Cake

I advise that you book your wedding cake as soon as possible. For the more popular dates, I'd recommend at least 12 to 18 months before your big day. Don't worry though, if you have left it a little late, just let me know your wedding date and I will check my availability.

During our initial contact via email, social media or phone please provide the following information so that I have an understanding of your requirements which will enable me to give you a guide price for your wedding cake:

  • Date of wedding
  • Venue
  • How many guests you want the cake to serve
  • Plus any images, mood boards and ideas for your cake

After these initial conversations, we can move forward and schedule an online consultation via zoom, which will enable a fuller discussion about your ideas.

Once a quotation has been provided and you are happy to proceed, a 'Save the Date' booking fee of £100 will be required. This is a non-refundable booking retainer, which ensures your date is booked into my diary.

All cakes are handmade using the highest quality ingredients. Decorations are all handmade unless stated. The price quoted will reflect the size and complexity of the proposed design. I understand that after our initial discussions, ideas can change and evolve, and that’s ok too. We can always make another consultation arrangement to suit.

I've Secured My Wedding Date, What Happens Next?

Once you have secured your date with me, you are then able to order a tasting box, which can be collected or posted to you, so you are able to enjoy your cake samples in the comfort of your own home with a cuppa or why not make it extra special with a glass of fizz.  This can be a great time to involve family or members of your wedding party in the wedding preparations. Sample boxes can be ordered at any time but please be aware they are not kept in stock at all times due to my baking schedule. More than one can be ordered, but the same flavours will be in each selection. Once you have enjoyed your samples, I will be in touch to arrange your online/ facetime consultation.

Should you feel you need more design help, why not book in a full design consultation with me where you will be invited into my home. I will serve your samples during the consultation along with complimentary tea or coffee. Your consultation would last around an hour. This service can be booked for £35, please get in touch to book.

Can I Sample The Cakes Before I Pay A Deposit?

Unfortunately at this time I am unable to offer sample boxes to couples who haven't yet secured their date with me. If this is a concern, please feel free to discuss this during our initial contact.

Once you have saved your date with me, you will automatically be added to my waiting list for cake tastings as I may not always have samples available, especially during peak wedding months.

What Will Be In My Taster Box?

You will receive a selection of samples, which are what I like to call the 'bakers choice' so you get a lovely surprise. It's not possible for me to allow each couple to choose their own tasting flavours as I have many flavours to choose from on the wedding cake menu. As you can imagine this would create a lot of wasted cake, as I bake full cakes for samples. However, the cake samples will give you a good indication of my baking skills and fill you with the confidence that any flavour you order for your wedding cake will be delicious and perfect for your special day.

My Wedding Day Is Almost Here, What Do I Do Next?

Six weeks prior to your wedding day, flavour choices for your wedding cake will need to be confirmed and an invoice for the final balance will be sent to you. All outstanding balances must be paid six weeks prior to your wedding day. Any changes needing to be made should be made clear at this stage.

Before I begin baking your wedding cake, I will get in touch one last time to talk through all the details stated on your paperwork, to ensure everything is 100% correct.

Your wedding cake will be delivered to the venue on the date agreed and will be formally handed over to your care at that point.

Ordering A Wedding Cake

* Please note that your date will not be secured in my diary until a 'Save the Date' retainer has been paid. This remains the case even after initial contact and conversations. Your wedding cake will be supplied and delivered upon final payments being made.

All the above information forms part of my Wedding Cake Terms and Conditions.
